What towns can participate?
East Hampton, East Haddam, Colchester and Marlborough. If you don't live in one of these town boundaries, you may still be able to participate so please contact us at [email protected]

How long is the cheer/football season?
Practices begin the first week of August.  The first game of the season is generally the weekend following Labor Day and regular games run through the mid to end of October.  Playoffs begin after all regular season games are completed and may run through mid to late November.  Cheerleading competition is held late October/early November.  Once game and competition schedules are provided by the CTYFL, that information will be passed on to all participants and posted to our website and social media.

Is there an attendance policy?
Yes. As both football and cheerleading are team sports, all participants are expected to be in regular attendance at all practices and games. We understand things come up but ask that you make every effort to attend. If you have a transportation need, please reach out to your coaches, team parent or other participants on the team to see if someone is able to assist.

What level of family participation is required?
All families are expected to participate in fundraising and volunteering throughout the season. The East Hampton Youth Football and Cheerleading Association relies heavily on your participation to help grow the organization and offset the cost of the program for all athletes.

What equipment is provided?
For football players the league will issue practice jerseys, padded pants, pads, helmets and game jerseys at the start of the season. For cheerleaders a shell, skirt, and bow will be issued at the start prior to the first game of the season. With the exception of the (cheerleading) bow, all equipment and uniforms are expected to be turned in at the end of the season.  Failure to turn in uniforms in good condition (normal wear and tear) will result in a replacement of up to $200.00.

What other equipment must be purchased?
For football players, the additional required items include cleats, game socks, athletic supporters, protective cup and mouth guard. Additional required items for cheerleading include black bloomers, short white socks and white cheer shoes.

Where are practices and home games?
Our home field for practices and games is East Hampton Middle School (19 Childs Rd, East Hampton CT). During the month of August, all football and cheerleading practices are held outside on the lower fields. Once school begins, cheerleading practices are moved inside. From time to we may need to adjust where cheerleading practices are held due to school availability.  This will always be communicated as soon as possible by your coach.
